I, Pastor Georges Bocage have been working in the Lords harvest for over 20 years. After spending eight years in the US Army, my last deployment was to Saudi Arabia, where the Lord opened my eyes to His truth. I was filled with the Holy Ghost and baptized in Jesus name in March 1991. Shortly thereafter I returned to Maryland and began attending the Apostolic Church of Laurel which later became Cross Creek Apostolic Church (CCAC). While there, I was blessed to hold a variety of positions that included Worship Leader, Sunday School Director, Youth Pastor, Newcomers Pastor, and Home Fellowship Leader. I learned a lot about church and working with, loving and ministering to God's people.
It's important to note that during this time the Lord placed a strong desire upon me to start a church in Bethesda, MD. I also obtained and hold my General license with the UPCI (United Pentecostal Churches International). In August 2013, l felt the call of God to move from Cross Creek Apostolic Church to Living Hope-DC under Pastor Jerry Staten. After a few short months, the Lord revealed to me that it was time to start a work in the city of Bethesda. The Church of the Living God was birthed and we had our very first service on February 4, 2014.
I'm so excited for the things God is going to do in the marvelous city of Bethesda!
We believe in the One true God. We also believe you must be baptized by water and Spirit. The Lord loved us so much that not only did He give his only son for us, but he has also given us every tool needed to succeed in life until His return. What a God! What a friend! What a love we have in Jesus!
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another.
We are commanded by our Lord and Savior to Love one another as God loved us. We believe in this wholeheartedly! We believe it is our duty to love and care for one another as if we are one big family. We are a multicultural church that believes in the spreading of love and kindness throughout the world. No matter your situation or circumstance, there is a place for you here!
